All of us want to make sense of life—of our work, our relationships, and our place in the world. Who are we? Why are we here? What should we do with our lives? And is there a hope I can cling to as I struggle to make a slight difference in the world?
Our guest is Steven Garber. He has spent his life as a teacher of many people in many places, currently serving as a Senior Fellow for the Institute for Marketplace Transformation. Anybody who is a regular listener to this podcast will have heard the name “Steve Garber” mentioned a lot. Not only was he Bob’s doctoral mentor, he has also influenced many of our previous guests. Steve is the author of some fantastic books, the latest being Hints of Hope: Essays on Making Peace with the Proximate (Paraclete Press, 2026).
